Seasons and weather in Myanmar
Myanmar has a three-season year like other monsoon climates, with a hot season, a cool season, and the monsoon in the middle. From May all the way through to September, the monsoon brings rain and thunderstorms; roads can be flooded, flights cancelled, and it's a difficult time to get around. From October onwards is the cool season, when the country is lush and green - a great time to see Bagan in particular. Then from late February till May, it gets hotter - temperatures over 40 degrees centigrade at the peak of the hot season can make it difficult to sleep, though if you drink lots of water and make sure your accommodation has air-con, you can survive.
